Course Description

Chronic pain is a common and global health problem and a leading cause of work disability. In this webinar, I will talk about the recent research on chronic pain and discuss health and work management strategies for employees experiencing chronic pain. I will also share tips for organizational leaders about how they can support their employees with pain.

Assistant professor at the School of Human Resource Management at York University

Dr. Duygu Gulseren

Dr. Duygu Gulseren works as an assistant professor at the School of Human Resource Management at York University, Canada. As an expert in healthy work, she studies chronic pain in the workplace and leading healthy workplaces. She also teaches occupational health and safety. Dug obtained her PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. She also holds a master's degree in psychology and a bachelor's degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering. Prior to her academic career, Dug worked as an HR consultant in Turkey and Canada. She published her work in high impact academic journals. Her research has also appeared in various media outlets such as Harvard Business Review, Psychology Today, and Canadian HR Reporter.
