Course Description

The COVID-19 crisis has put many leaders in the position of working from home and managing their team from a distance. As a result of this sudden change, managers may feel unprepared for leading the productivity and engagement of their people from a distance. This webinar, by Organizational Psychologists who are global experts on remote leadership, will provide evidence-based information about the unique capabilities required of managers to successfully lead remote teams through these difficult times.


You will learn:

  • Participants will become familiar with the unique challenges and opportunities presented by remote work during the COVID-19 crisis

Laura Hambley, PhD

Dr. Laura Hambley is an Industrial/Organizational Psychologist based in Calgary, Alberta. Laura is co-founder and President of Work EvOHlution, which creates innovative assessment and training for mobile/remote employees, leaders, and teams. Laura is an experienced consultant and entrepreneur who is passionate about addressing the critical role of leadership, work styles/personality, and team dynamics as they relate to distributed work. Since 2004, Laura has published extensive research on the critical success factors for effectively leading distributed teams and has developed and delivered seminars on distributed teams for organizations, universities and international conferences. In addition to Work EvOHlution, Laura co-founded Canada Career Counselling (Toronto/Calgary), the Leadership Success Group. Work EvOHlution’s Distributed Work Profiler was written about in Scientific American magazine as the world’s first personality profile of a remote worker. Work EvOHlution was also selected to present three times at South by Southwest, the innovation megaconference, in Austin, Texas (2018 and 2019).

April is a Registered Provisional Psychologist and Workplace Psychology Consultant with nearly a decade of experience researching and supporting career transitions. Her educational and professional background is centred on the investigation of how individuals can best approach and navigate change in their work and workplaces. Involved with Work EvOHlution since its inception in 2014, April brings a specialized research background to her consultant experience that provides her with the unique ability to translate research into practical results and actionable solutions for organizations. April is an experienced and sought after speaker, having delivered numerous sessions at conferences and to organizations across Canada.
