- New immigrant workers’ understanding of occupational health and safety (OH&S)
- OH&S training and understanding of rights
- Challenges they experience in terms of maintaining safety at work.

PhD
Janki Shankar
Janki Shankar is professor at the faculty of social work at the University of Calgary. Before joining academia, she worked for several years as a mental health therapist and rehabilitation consultant in Sydney Australia. She has a PhD from University of Sydney and has specialized in the vocational rehabilitation of people with disabilities. Her current research focuses on work safety and health of workers from linguisitc and racialized backgrounds and those experiencing mental health issues.
