This course focuses on :
The presentation will focus on employment issues faced by individuals living with multiple sclerosis (MS) and the known factors associated with unemployment in MS.
The webinar will include recent findings with regard to the role of disease and person-specific factors and how they contribute to either leaving the workforce or staying employed.
Finally, a discussion of the outcomes of unemployment will be provided as well as the importance of staying active if leaving the workforce.
Learning outcomes:
- Participants will develop a greater understanding about employment issues in multiple sclerosis (MS) and the factors most associated with either leaving the workforce or staying employed.
- Individuals will obtain a great appreciation for the person-specific factors (e.g., personality, self-efficacy) and their role on employment status as well as other factors associated with health related quality of life, coping, and management of one’s MS.
