Course Description

Dr. Janet Jull walks participants through the benefits of shared decision making and how it can help with chronic pain management and better communication with health professionals.

By the end of this presentation, you will know how to:

  1. Explore decisions about care with care provider(s).
  2. Articulate values and preferences in care decisions.
  3. Articulate care decision making needs to care provider(s).
  4. Plan next steps in the decision making process with care provider(s)

Occupational Therapist

Janet Jull, MSc (OT), PhD (c)

Janet Jull is trained as an occupational therapist, and has worked in clinical positions throughout Canada; she has also worked in a range of health policy and management positions. She has a degree in occupational therapy from the University of Western Ontario, and a Master's degree from Dalhousie University in which she focused on informed consent.Janet is a PhD candidate in the University of Ottawa Population Health doctoral program, and has completed a graduate diploma in Health Services and Policy Research at the University of Ottawa. She is currently the recipient of a KT Canada Student Fellowship and Training program award, a program that supports development of knowledge translation in health research.
