This panel brings together two critical perspectives womens’ heightened risks of burnout. Influenced by socialization that often teaches pioritization of other’s needs and frames self-care as selfish or unattainable, these dynamics compound the emotional and cognitive health components that are too often overlooked by standard burnout strategies.

At the same time, the digital demands of modern work add new layers of complexity. From techno-invasion that fuels caregiver guilt to the impacts of internalized ageism around tech adoption, these pressures further strain balance and resilience.

Together, these presentations take a holistic look at the cultural and technological forces driving burnout, offering strategies to reframe self-care, build digital resilience and reclaim balance for sustainable well-being.

  • Identify the cultural, emotional, and cognitive factors that uniquely contribute to burnout in women, alongside the five key technostress creators impacting digital work environments.

Dr.

Sola Togun-Butler

Dr. Sola Togun-Butler is the Founder, CEO, & Psychotherapist at Butterfly Counseling Services. She established Butterfly Counseling Services to make mental health services accessible and affordable for a diverse client population. Previously, she was an Assistant Professor and Associate Chairperson in the Human Services Department at St. Joseph’s University in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Sola is also the Founder, CEO, & Certified Professional Life Coach at Transformative Coaching & Consulting. She empowers women to go from burnout to balance by using realistic self-care toolkits that fit their busy schedules and transform their emotional and cognitive health. She is an award-winning international speaker highlighting the importance of mental health and wellness while offering solutions to minimize stress, prevent burnout, and achieve balance for industry conferences, colleges/universities, agencies, and corporations. Dr. Sola has been interviewed by NBC News New York and Spectrum News NY1 on her areas of expertise.

Maryam Schneider

Maryam Schneider is an assistant professor of psychology and an educational consultant passionate about creating healthier, more inclusive learning and workplace environments. She focuses on digital wellness, health, and organizational effectiveness, helping bridge gaps across gender, age, and technology use. With a strong background in program design and research, Maryam develops evidence-based strategies that support both people and companies to thrive. She has led curriculum redesigns, mentored faculty, and shaped DEI initiatives that strengthen engagement and retention for learners and educators alike. Her expertise includes workplace burnout, digital wellness, technology-induced stress, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and inclusive learning design, and she is driven by a commitment to turn complex challenges into practical, meaningful solutions that enhance well-being and performance.
