Course Description

Past research on workplace health promotion (WHP) programs has discovered considerable differences between the perceptions of employees and employers regarding program effects, sources of stress, and job satisfaction. A review of relevant research will be presented along with a recent study that assessed the opinions of wellness programs—from sponsors of these programs and recipients—that revealed marked discrepancies between the two groups that may have important implications for how businesses approach WHP in the future. These discrepancies may translate into wellness initiatives that are not well aligned to the needs of the intended users and are unlikely to be as successful as those that welcome employee involvement. Strategies for improvement based on these insights and industry best practices will be provided.

By watching this webinar, you will learn about:

  • The current landscape of workplace health promotion (WHP) programs in the US
  • Employee and employer perspectives on WHP programs, leadership, and organizational supports
  • Insights and strategies to improve organizational health and WHP programs through communication and employee engagement
