Course Description

Description:

Mental health-related disabilities are often invisible and present a challenge for employers responsible for providing accommodations in the workplace. Similarly, accommodations for these disabilities are not often as concrete as an ergonomic chair or other physical adaptation. Moreover, many employers struggle to understand how to provide accommodations in a remote, dispersed, or disrupted work environment, like that of most organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic. By following and adapting best practices, employers can overcome these challenges and ensure their employees remain engaged and productive during disruption.

By the end of this course, you will better understand:

  • List and describe key benefits of accommodating employees with mental health-related disabilities.
  • Identify common areas of accommodation required for employees with mental health related disabilities.
  • Apply knowledge of accommodation best-practices to situational examples or case studies.
  • Learn how accommodation practices can be modified to suit remoted or dispersed work spaces.
