Course Description
In cause-based workers’ compensation systems, employers are incentivized to bring injured workers back to work even where there is persisting incapacity. RTW is generally conceptualized as an interaction between the employer and the injured worker, and health care professionals, and fails to recognize the social context of work. Managers focus on administrative requirements but when things go wrong a lack of co-worker support is often cited as the cause.
You will learn:
- RTW arrangements are impacted by the social context of work
- Standard arrangements can be inadequate when a RTW plan requires active co-workers support
- Consultation and communication with co-workers may lead to better RTW outcomes
