Course Description

Dr. Wagner talks about the legal rquirements around human rights and accommodation in relationship to workplace bullying and mental health issues.

During this webinar, attendees will learn:

  • To become familiar with the current legal requirements regarding human rights and duty to accommodate in the workplace
  • To understand the differences between human rights-based harassment/discrimination and workplace bullying
  • To discuss the content and meaning of Bill 14, workers’ compensation coverage for work-related mental health issues
  •  To provide basic recommendations for workplaces interested in proactively meeting legislative and other requirements

Shannon Wagner, PhD

Dr. Shannon Wagner is an Associate Professor in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Northern British Columbia, in Prince George. Her research focus is occupational mental health, especially as it relates to disability management, occupational stress, trauma and family-work interface. She has published more than 20 peer-reviewed articles and chapters on occupational mental health.  In addition to her research, teaching and service, Dr. Wagner maintains a small clinical practice. Her practice provides general psychological assessment for both children and adults and provides specific local expertise for issues of occupational mental health, especially workplace related traumatic stress.
